Tirsdag den 9. september gæstede Professor Mohan Munasinghe, IPCCs næstformand, Københavns Universitet for at holde en Climate Lecture. Munasinghe stillede skarpt på udviklingslandene og bæredygtig udvikling.

Professor Munasinghe præsenterede nogle af de vigtigste resultater fra IPCC's fjerde og seneste rapport om klimaændringerne og tog samtidig udgangspunkt i sin seneste bog "Making Development More Sustainable: Sustainomics Framework and Practical Applications".
Det centrale var Professor Munasinghes innovative koncept om "sustainomics". Han talte om, hvordan den traditionelle udviklingsindsats såsom fattigdomsbekæmpelse, fødevaresikkerhed, sundhed og arbejdsvilkår kan fortsætte, men på mere bæredygtig vis, hvor der samtidigt gøres noget ved klimaforandringerne.
